I was in Las Vegas with a good friend of mine a little while back and got some great shots of the Urban Scenery there. I love the color and contrast of the different patterns. This was taken in the Venetian Hotel.
Today's picture of the day comes from Disney's California Adventure. They have an area at night called "ElecTRONica". They have techno music, dancers, and all manner of lasers and glow in the dark stuff. I was watching this girl with a Hula Hoop that was lighted. I thought that if I could do a slow enough shutter I might get a cool effect with the light. This one came out pretty good, it was 1/13 of a second, f4 , ISO 3200.
I had the opportunity to be out on the ocean last week. This was one of the shots that I liked because of the single seagull flying off into the sunset. It's a very simple picture but sometimes the best things in life are just that - simple. I hope you enjoy it as well.
This is a picture I took just before New Years. Anastasia and I drove up to Tahoe after making a stop in Sacramento to drop her kids off with their dad. I planned on driving around the lake, mainly because I was ignorant to truly how big that lake is. As I pulled into this little one way street I had to get out. I almost climbed down the stairs to take the picture from down near the waters edge but I'm sure that would have not ended well. This is actually about 6 pictures taken in portait that I then stitched together in Photoshop. The actual picture is 12,000 x 5,000 pixels. Please let me know what you think of the picture in the comments.
Aaron ![]() This Christmas my amazing wife bought me the Canon 7D. After about a month and a couple thousand pictures, all I can say is WOW! The ability this camera has to take pictures in low light blows away my previous camera. It also has full 1080p HD video capabilities which I haven't even begun to dive into. Even though its not "the camera" that makes the photographer (some of the pictures on the site were taken with a "non professional" Canon XTi) it sure doesn't hurt to have professional grade equipment. I can't wait to use it for a wedding in February with Capra Sano Media as well as a desert High Fashion shoot w/ Gavin Wade Photographers. I'm looking forward to making 2011 our year. :D
So with this blog entry, Underground Photography's new website is officially launched. I am going to try to do a picture a day post at least and then maybe a poll once a week to see which photo that week was the most popular. I should have enough pictures to fill a whole year! Of course it's never the pictures that is the problem. It's the time. Since this is the first blog entry, I'll post a picture. I was sitting in the car waiting for dinner (take out) and I saw a HUGE full moon. I thought what a great chance to try and get a shot. I have tried in the past but could never seem to get a clear enough picture. Here is what I came up with. I took this shot at 1/100th at ISO 100. Unfortunately my lens only goes to 135mm so this was as big as I could get but I've never gotten such detail in a moon shot before.
